Review: The Hunger Games, Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Since it probably pays to have Katniss Everdeen teach you the rules of survival in a post apocalyptic world (once the Don has inevitably makes a hash of things), I read the Hunger Games series.

After the lows of Catching Fire, Collins is back on form with this one. There’s a ton of action to get through right from the get go: there’s a revolution to be planned, battles to be fought, a Capitol to overthrow, a president to be captured, a new regime to be installed, and mostly importantly of all, a decision to be made: Gale or Peeta.

On top of it all, Katniss finally resolves all of those moral dilemmas she’s been wrestling with since the opening page of the first book: How far would you go to protect your family? Who does she love? How can you trust people who you know will kill you them if the advantages are right? How can you trust anyone?

Whilst not as good as the first, this is still a good read – a good four out of five stars if I was in the business of giving out stars in reviews. Still not as good as the first one mind.
