Review: Sherlock Holmes in a Scandal in Bohemia by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Another classic Sherlock Holmes adventure, though I couldn’t quite get into this one.

A Scandal in Bohemia introduces Irene Adler to Holmes’s world, and she becomes one of his greatest adversaries. But even so, I needed more from this. more twists, turns, the odd poison dart, or even the occasional dead body. But no, a simple case of a lost photograph is all we get.

This thing isn’t really on a par with Holmes’s previous adventures – it’s all a bit simple. Beneath him, even. The only reason he takes the case at all is because the client is a king.

At least Holmes puts down the cocaine bottle when he’s busy though right?
