Review: Sherlock Holmes in a Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

This is the book that introduced the world to Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, and the world is a better place for it.

A man is murdered in Brixton, and the only clues on the scene are a gold watch, a wedding ring, and a word written in blood on the wall. The police are stumped, who should they turn to?

There’s not much left in the world to say about this book that hasn’t been written before.

I think you’ll probably love it. Easy to read with two of the best characters that fiction has to offer.

My favourite bit was when Watson lists everything that Holmes knows about – poisons and sensational literature are high on the list:

Highly recommended.
