Review: Life of Pi by Yann Martel

Now this one is a fun read, definitely one of the most strangely satisfying books I can remember reading. And in exactly 100 chapters too – the most satisfying number of chapters a book can have.

It’s about a boy who is stranded on a lifeboat with a tiger, told in the kind of way you’d expect from Isabel Allende or Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Magical realism I believe it is called, but that really means it makes everything seem extraordinarily beautiful.

This is a funny and endearing book that I recommend wholeheartedly.

Now the thing with this Booker Prize winner is that the film is just as good. So, maybe choose one or the other…
