Review: Bring up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel

Now this is a cracker.

The follow up to Wolf Hall, this book is every bit as good, bringing Thomas Cromwell and the court of Henry VIII to life.

Cromwell’s pragmatic (almost cold) understanding of torture and description of Anne Boleyn’s death are particularly brilliant (in a book crammed full of brilliant writing).

Highly recommended.
